Dan and Elizabeth Smith, St. George, Utah
These adorable photos have taken over a year to coordinate, but they were absolutely worth the wait. Dan and Elizabeth are truly one of the sweetest couples I know. Their love radiates between them, and it has always impressed me.
Elizabeth is a dear friend and mentor. She has been the midwife for three of my babies, and each birth was such a sacred and special experience. I owe so much of that to Liz—she is deeply attuned to the spirit of birth and is a gifted, conscientious midwife.
She has also been an incredible inspiration to me. A little over a year ago, I began apprenticing with her, and that experience became the catalyst that opened my heart and mind to returning to school to pursue my graduate degree and become a Certified Nurse Midwife. Being able to attend births with Liz taught me so much and shaped the path I’m on now.
At the moment, I’m in the didactic portion of my program, but I hope to work with Liz again when I enter my clinical and preceptorship phases. She is such an influential and dynamic woman. Dan is so good and kind to her, and it makes me genuinely happy to see them together and to witness the beautiful life they’ve built.
