Roysten and Dvorak Families

I was surprised to find out that the Roysten and Dvorak families are not related, but are good family friends who have a tradition of spending Thanksgiving together. One family came down from Idaho and another came up from California to meet here in Ivins, Utah. And you would have thought they were related. They had such sweet relationships with each other and I could tell that they care deeply for one another. I brought my niece, Lily, along to the shoot with me, and as we were leaving we both commented on how fun we thought it was that these families are such great friends.

Isn't friendship so wonderful? I think about the friends I have and each of them have played a significant role in helping me become who I am today. I have childhood friends that I have known for almost my entire life and friends I made within the last month, but each have had an impact on me. Each have said something that I needed to hear, or reached out when I was feeling lonely, or simply made me smile by saying hello.

I was inspired by the Royston's and Dvorak's to continue putting effort into developing stronger friendships with families around me. I'm honored that they reached out and worked with me and I hope that they enjoy their photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
