Chance and Brenna Burrows Family

There is a part of me that doesn't even know where to begin when I write about this wonderful family. Brenna and I have known each other for a very long time. We swam on the high school swim team together and were on the 3A State Championship Team for water polo in Utah during my senior year. I have so many fond memories of Brenna and how she made me laugh, but mostly I have always been impressed by her quiet confidence.

I see her today and she is such a remarkable mother. Their family lived in China for several years, and I watched their YouTube channel frequently to see what was going on in their lives. Every video filled me with so much joy and happiness because I knew I was watching a family that absolutely loved one another. I would see how Brenna would look at her children and Chance, and see the way Chance adored all of his wonderful girls. It always warmed my heart.

Now that they are back in the states, I am selfishly so happy. I know that leaving China was one of the hardest things they have ever done. While they were there, they were all in. They studied the language, immersed themselves in the culture, and loved the Chinese people and their way of life with every fiber of their beings. I watched them change, grow, transform and mature into a family forged in unity.

As I worked with them during their session, I could feel the love they have for one another. It was tangible and washed over me like the soft, glowing light that surrounded them. You cannot help but be inspired by their goodness. It was another moment in time that made me want to love more fully and deeply. To look at my kids the way that Brenna looks at her girls. To have more camaraderie with my husband. To laugh more.

I am so thankful I was able to reconnect with Chance and Brenna and spend some time with them! Photography has been such a gift to me. It has opened doors to relationships that I wouldn't otherwise have. It changes me and helps me to see life from a different perspective, one with more hope, love, friendship and laughter.
